Sanjeev Jain is at the Dept. of Psychiatry at NIMHANS, Bengaluru, where he has been studying historical and social responses to mental health issues using institutional and individual histories. His work explores the development of psychiatric care and health policy in South Asia, during the colonial and post-colonial period. He also heads the Molecular Genetics Laboratory, where he researches the genetic and genomic correlates of psychiatric and neurological disease.
